Why Mess With Perfection??

Tonight NBC is attempting to reclaim it's glory by airing a new
"Bionic Woman".

Why, I ask, WHY?!?!?

The original "Bionic Woman" with Lindsay Wagner is a classic. Okay, looking back... it might be cheesy with all the low-budget effects. But the show defined a huge part of my childhood.

The new "Bionic Woman" is supposed to have much darker plots with all the latest and greatest effects. Well, La-Di-Da! Will there be the mannequin-like fembots?!?!? I think not!

Just take a look...

The original Bionic Woman

or The new Bionic Woman

I'll watch the original, thank you very much!

Hideous...

Yesterday, I had to have half of my nose gouged off of my face by the dermatologist!!

Okay, I may be overreacting just a smidge... but that's what it felt like!

A month or so ago, I started off with a nasty spot on the bridge of my nose... it became more noticable on our trip out west. I thought that maybe I had just missed that spot with my sunblock and got a really good burn. But after a month had gone by with me pampering it... I began to worry that it may be something more. It was a bit scaly and kept changing from being bumpy to being smooth like a burn.

So I made my appointment... went there at 8:30 am with all the thoughts of having him take a look... give me some cream... and sending me on my way. But no!!! He took a look... then said that he needed to remove it for biopsy... but he did not use the word "remove", instead he went with the term "SCOOP"... hello, that's my nose, what's there to "scoop"?!?!? He said that it looked like the beginning stage of Basal Cell Carcinoma. And before I know it... he had me down on the table... aiming a needle toward my nose. Okay people... I don't know about you, but there is not a lot of flesh on my nose to shove a needle into.

And it is at that instant... when the needle is in my nose... I start to go. What I mean by "go" is... I get the cold sweats and everything starts getting further away... I'm heading into the abyss! I have the strength to say " Um, just so you know... I am going to pass out now." The doctor tells me to hang in there with him, which I do... not because I always do as I am told, but more because of my fear that if I am out... he could possibly take the whole nose!

So he does his "scooping" and let's me lay there for a while. I finally feel up to sitting... I stay in that position for a while. Then I get up to cross the room to pick up my purse... whoa... I need to sit down again. After a few minutes, I make it down the hall to pay. As I am standing there, my hands and arms begin to go numb... I hold onto the desk and pray that I do not pass out in in front of the other patients. I finally make it out to the car, where I sit for a few more minutes. WHAT A GREAT WAY TO START THE WORK WEEK!!!

I should get the results back next week sometime. I'm not too worried at this point... because right now I am more concerned about how hideous I look! I keep a bandage on it during work... I don't want to horrify my co-workers!

Here are a couple of the photos that I have sent with an application to the circus... I am hoping to get a job in the FREAK SHOW!!!

Wrong On So Many Levels....

I came across this ACTUAL headline and I can't even begin to tell you the thoughts that ran through my pea-sized intellect.

"Using testicles to fix the brain, heart and blood"

Oh, BALLS!

... and well, that's all I have to say about that.

Goodbye Brett...

Actress and comedian Brett Somers, who amused game show fans with her quips on the "Match Game" in the 1970s, has died. She was 83. Somers died Saturday at her home in Westport of stomach and colon cancer.

I loved "Match Game"... and Brett. The banter between Brett, Charles Nelson Reilly, Gene Rayburn, Nipsy Russell, and Fannie Flagg was absolutely amazing!

So here is my Match Game question of the day...

As Brett arrived at the pearly gates... God shouted BLANK.

My answer is "Welcome!"

Ouch...

On Monday, I joined a fitness center. I have notice that with each year, my metabolism gets slower and slower. The exercises that I did at home just weren't cutting it anymore. So I decided to do this to be more disciplined and to keep my body toned. I think it is going to be good for me... but this first week is a killer. I have a personal trainer, Amber... who is going to whip me into shape in six weeks... then it's a maintenance program... FOR LIFE.

As of this moment, I am unable to lift my arms.
Amber say it's a "good hurt"... Yeah, RIGHT!!!

A Sad Goodbye...

Last night, my grandma passed away. She was 98 years old. She was the most amazing, thoughtful, selfless and content person that I have ever known. My grandma showed me what it was like to have true faith... and that faith never faultered... even towards the end.

I was so lucky to have such a wonderful grandma. And I was fortunate to be able to tell that to her this last Saturday. I knew that this visit would be the last I would have with her... and I am so thankful I got to touch her, tell her the things I wanted to say, hear her say "I love you"... and just breathe in all of her grace.

My grandma loved to crochet, draw pictures, play Yahtzee!, visit with family and friends, and read her bible.

I keep thinking how blessed our family has been... having a parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent live to be 98 years old.
We are the lucky ones.
Grandma crocheted Clifford and Kennedy for me.

Good Times...

On Saturday night... I hung out with some really amazing people.
My family.

Here are a few of us getting the party started...

My brother Doug, his wife Melissa, me, my nephew Carl, and my niece Rachel.

This is me with my boys!!...

My nephew Mike, me and Carl.

Things are beginning to get out of control...

My sister Pam's pucker, Mike, Carl, Me, and Melissa's bunny ear fingers!

This was the last photo taken just moments before we were hacked up into tiny pieces by the madman behind us!!...

Rachel, me... and Mike's crazed eyeball.

This pretty much sums up how much fun we have when we get together... just a bunch of crazy lunatics.

And I wouldn't have it any other way...
