For Richer or For Poorer...

NEWLYWEDS ACCUSED OF ROBBING UTAH BANK

SALT LAKE CITY - Two newlyweds were arrested and accused of robbing a Utah County bank, just weeks after getting married. Kylee and Joshua Rich of Lehi are due in federal court Wednesday to hear the charges.

Kylee Rich, 20, was arrested Saturday, shortly after swapping cars with her husband, who is accused of robbing $3,100 from a Wells Fargo branch in Lindon that day, the FBI said. Police caught him Sunday in Pleasant Grove.

Besides that heist, Joshua Rich, 25, was charged with robbing the same bank on Nov. 10 and Nov. 27.

"The wife was supposedly involved in only the third one," FBI agent Scott Wall said.

The Riches were married in November, shortly after the first robbery, Pleasant Grove police Capt. Cody Cullimore said.

The money was spent on the wedding and trips to Las Vegas and Palm Springs, Calif., he said.

Ann With An "E"

In 1985, PBS brought one of my favorite stories to life. The cast was chosen beautifully to portray the amazing characters... Megan Follows as Anne Shirley, Colleen Dewhurst as Marilla Cuthbert, Richard Farnsworth as Matthew Cuthbert and Jonathan Crombie as Gilbert Blythe.

Here's the synopsis....

At the turn of the century on Prince Edward Island, Matthew Cuthbert and his sister Marilla decide to take on an orphan boy as help for their farm. But they get an unexpected jolt when they're mistakenly sent a girl instead: Anne Shirley. As Anne falls into a series of scrapes (and off a roof), makes a bosom friend in Diana, searches (and finds) several kindred spirits, completely ignores Gilbert Blythe who is hopelessly in love with her, Matthew and Marilla discover that their lives have become a great deal richer, now that Anne is at Green Gables.

As the years pass, Anne becomes a schoolteacher. She acts as Diana's maid of honor, and refuses Gilbert Blythe's marriage proposal; which sends her to teach at Kingsport Ladies' College, an exclusive girls school, where she meets much opposition. But while Anne enjoys the battle, and the friends she makes, she eventually returns to Green Gables.

It's great family entertainment and such a heart-warming story! I just purchased the DVD's of Anne of Green Gables and Anne of Green Gables, The Sequel. If you haven't seen these movies yet, I highly recommend it!

Deep Thoughts...

Why is it that asteroids are in the hemisphere...
and hemorrhoids are on your ass?

Shouldn't it be the other way around??
It's thoughts like this that keep me up at night!

A Feline's Canines...

The Importance of Dental Hygiene

At an early age, my cat, Lilly became an avid toothbrusher. She had found an old toothbrush in the basement… one on the back of a washbasin that I used to scrub stains out of clothes. She carried it upstairs and was very excited to show me how well she could brush her teeth.

Although I am very glad she has taken an interest in dental hygiene… I have yet to teach her to not brush quite so vigorously.

My main concern… receding gumlines.

Tick, Tock....

What a difference two minutes can make!

CLOCK TICKS NEARER TO DOOM

LONDON -- The world is edging closer to nuclear or environmental apocalypse, a group of prominent scientists warned as it pushed the hand of its symbolic Doomsday Clock closer to midnight.

The clock, which was set two minutes forward to 11:55, represents the likelihood of a global cataclysm.

Monkey Business...

Escaped Chimp Gets Snack, Cleans Bathroom

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - An escaped chimpanzee at the Little Rock Zoo raided a kitchen cupboard and did a little cleaning with a toilet brush before sedatives knocked her out on top of a refrigerator.

The 120-pound primate, Judy, escaped yesterday into a service area when a zookeeper opened a door to her sleeping quarters, unaware the animal was still inside.

As keepers tried to woo Judy back into her cage, she rummaged through a refrigerator where chimp snacks are stored. She opened kitchen cupboards, pulled out juice and soft drinks and took a swig from bottles she managed to open.

Keeper Ann Rademacher says Judy went into the bathroom, picked up a toilet brush and cleaned the toilet. Rademacher says the 37-year-old Judy was a house pet before the zoo acquired her in 1988, so she may have been familiar with housekeeping chores. Judy wrung out a sponge and scrubbed down the fridge.

It took a couple of tries, but the zoo sedated the chimp, who fell asleep on top of the refrigerator with half a loaf of cinnamon-raisin bread she had pulled out of the freezer.

The zoo veterinarian gave Judy a drug to bring her around. Rademacher says Judy was groggy but fine after the episode.

The zoo says there was no danger Judy would get out of the primate keepers service area and onto zoo grounds.

Okay... I want to get a chimp. If it will clean my house... I'll give it all the snacks it wants!!

The Hills are Alive...

And so am I!

I know it's been a while since I have posted, but with the holidays... and to be quite truthful... NOTHING exciting happening, I thought I'd take a little break.

I was going to see how long this could go on... but MSUgal86 called me out on it!! She made her demands heard... and I am back!!!!

The picture you are looking at is from my trip to Switzerland. It was taken in Zermatt and gives you a glimpse of the Matterhorn. It is quite breath-taking!! That two-week trip changed my life... I fell in love with the country and a certain someone. What we had was fleeting... but will stay with me forever. He changed the way I look at men... and what I want from a man. Although we stay in touch... I know in my heart that we will never be together.

Why am I telling you this?? Because that is one reason I haven't been writing. I went through a bit of a mourning period... knowing that no matter how much we can love someone... sometimes it just isn't meant to be.

By the way... It's good to be back!
