Life of the Party...

My nephew who lives in California is coming home today! I am driving up see him tomorrow... and I can't wait!! I haven't seen him since Christmas.

I am also looking forward to visiting my other nephews, niece, mom and dad, sister, brother... and mostly, my grandmother.

Welcome home, C.D.W. ... be prepared to get an enormous hug from your Aunt Jodi!!

My amazing sister-in-law is celebrating her birthday today. She and my brother started dating when I was maybe around 5 or 6 years old... so I really don't have a lot of memories of our family without her. She's always been a part of the Miller clan... and we are lucky to have her!!

The Wall...

A part of our trip plan was to drive down Highway 101 through Washington, Oregon and California to take in the amazing views of the coastline. Well, Mother Nature though she'd have a little fun with the girls from Michigan!!

On a few of the days... where we were to see the "most picturesque views of the coast"... a wonderful wall of fog came rolling in from the Pacific!

This picture will show you the curtain of fog coming in off the water....

And this picture shows me walking on the beach once the fog hit!...

We did get some great pictures in between the "waves" of fog... but I know we missed out on quite a bit of the coastline. Does Mother Nature care that we drove all the way across the country just to see the coast??? I think not!

Mysterious Beauty...

Can anyone tell me what this is??

Is it an actual flower or what's left of one?

I took the picture up at the ever-so cold and rainy Mt. Rainier...

and there were fields of them.

I absolutely fell in love with these amazing things!!

UPDATE:

After much investigating...

I found out that these beauties are called "Western Anemone seed heads"... although I really like Karmyn's idea that I had accidentally stumbled upon some 3rd dimension or Fairy land!! ;-)

I'm Back...

We had a great time out west.

But after driving nearly 7,000 miles... hiking over 91 miles in our great National Parks... spending 1 night trying to sleep sitting up in the car (I'll tell you about that later!)... putting up and taking down the tent 14 times... eating WAY too many hot dogs, sausages and s'mores... and seeing numerous piles of bear scat... I'M GLAD TO BE HOME!!!

I'll try to get some pictures up in the next couple of days.

I am leaving bright and early tomorrow morning!
